2022 Grand Cherokee vs 2022 Acadia: Interior Review

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has been fully redesigned for the 2022 model year and the interior is spectacular. Even at the base level, the interior has a handsome design with soft-touch materials. As you climb trim levels the interior easily crosses into luxe level accommodations. The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee seats up to seven people with the front seats sporting heating and ventilation technology. Massaging seats are also available along with multicolor ambient lighting that can enhance the experience of any adventure. And, if you’re planning a long adventure, the Grand Cherokee has a ton of cargo space to accommodate everything you need. Depending on configurations, there are 17.7 or 37.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seat, 46.9 cubic feet behind the second row, and a total of either 70.8 cubic feet of space in the five-seat configuration or 84.6 in the Grand Cherokee L.

The GMC Acadia has seating for six to seven people and a relatively handsome design with only a few hard plastics and mostly soft-touch materials throughout the cabin. Available comfort features include heated and ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, and a sliding second-row seat. When it comes to cargo space the Acadia’s capacity is still decent but it doesn’t have as much room to boast as the Grand Cherokee. Behind the rear seat is 12.8 cubic feet of space. With the rear seats folded, it has 41.7 cubic feet of space and in total it had 79 cubic feet of cargo capacity.

2022 Grand Cherokee vs 2022 Acadia: Infotainment and Technology

Staying entertained in the 2022 Grand Cherokee is easy. At the base level, it comes with an 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system with USB ports, a Wi-fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto, and a six-speaker stereo to stream all of your music through. Highlights among the available features include a larger 10.1-inch touch screen, an additional 10.25-inch touch screen for passengers, and an entertainment system in the rear seats that will easily keep children engaged during long drives. Car-buyers will also like the available wireless charging and 19-speaker McIntosh stereo.

The GMC Acadia has a healthy list of features as well. It includes an 8-inch infotainment system and all of the same standard features seen in the Grand Cherokee. Although it doesn’t have an additional touchscreen or a 19-speaker stereo, some of the highlights of Acadia’s available features include navigation, a wireless device charger, an eight-speaker Bose audio system, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

2022 Grand Cherokee vs 2022 Acadia: Performance Review

The 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee has three engine options. The base engine is a 293-horsepower 3.6-liter V6. The second is a 357-horsepower V8 that produces 390 pound-feet of torque. Finally, there is a 375-horsepower hybrid option. The Grand Cherokee is capable of towing up to 7200 pounds depending on the engine option but its off-road capabilities are even more impressive. For instance, four-wheel drive is available on all models, the Grand Cherokee is capable of water-fording through up to 24-inches of water with the Jeep Quadra-Lift® Suspension System, and it’s available with 11.3-inches of ground clearance.

The GMC Acadia comes standard with a 228-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a 310-horsepower V6 is available. The Acadia can tow up to 4000 pounds. And the Acadia isn’t as off-road ready as the Grand Cherokee but its rugged exterior isn’t all for show. Its Traction Select System is standard on all trims and has modes for snow, sport, trailer and off-road depending on whether you select the front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
